I always work late into the night and sometimes in early morning. Sunshine does sounds fine, but sometimes I like to stay away from it, when I work. This is why I use Wooden Blinds instead of the translucent plastic ones. You should get wooden blinds, if you think in the same lines as me, and there are a lot of options to choose from. You should also check for your wall colors or your wallpapers, before you buy blinds. I generally go for some blinds and have them painted the color of my walls. I change my walls often and hence this works well for me.
